Created to commemorate 25 years of Jahan-e-Khusrau—the
world-renowned Sufi music festival founded by filmmaker and
artist Muzaffar Ali—this limited-edition coffee table book gave
NadLab the rare privilege of transforming an extraordinary
musical legacy into an enduring visual archive.
Working with Muzaffar Ali and Meera Ali, we shaped the volume as
an immersive journey through the festival’s history: its
legendary voices, hypnotic performances, poetry, calligraphy and
moments of spiritual transcendence. Evocative photography,
flowing verses, dramatic compositions and a deeply tactile
material language come together to capture the syncretic spirit
at the heart of Amir Khusrau’s legacy.
The book was unveiled on 28 February 2025 at the 25th edition of
Jahan-e-Khusrau, inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India,
Shri Narendra Modi, at New Delhi’s Sunder Nursery.
More than a chronicle of a festival, this is a portrait of
India’s pluralistic soul—25 years of music, devotion and
cultural unity, preserved in print.
